Repair of all the damage caused by this catastrophe took several years to complete and is the result of what you see today.
Sheraton Kauai Resort, Koa Kea Hotel & Resort, Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club and the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, the new, luxurious resorts that front Poipu Beach have succeeded in drawing a number of tourists to Poipu’s shores.
Of coarse, this cause was also aided by the edition of the nearby golf courses. One being the Poipu Bay Golf Course, which held the PGA Grand Slam of Golf competition from 1997-2006, welcoming many champions including, Tiger Woods, Phil Mikelson and Jim Furyk.

The Monk Seals swim for quite a distance to feed during the night, and in the day, they rest on the beach. Lately Poipu has been the very resting place the Seals have chosen to make they’re bed. If you happen to catch a glimpse of one of the Monk Seals, be sure to enjoy the rare sight from a safe distance away.
The calm shores of Poipu Beach HI, are fronted by Poipu Beach Park. This park runs along the shore and encompasses both Poipu Beach and Brennecke Beach.
