On the hot and sunny Southwestern coast of Mauai, Wailea Beach Hawaii is protected by large black lava points which boarder both ends of the crescent shaped beach.

A big and wide stretch of sand, Wailea Beach is a popular spot. It has a paved walk running the length of it, connecting the beach with the world class hotels, restaurants and shops that line its shore.

Wailea Beach Hawaii is also a great place to do some whale watching. From the month of December right into April, Whales can be spotted from shore or you could take a whale watching boat tour. While watching these creatures from shore can be fun, being right up close to these massive whales is an experience you’ll remember for a life time.

Thanks to the lava points on either end of the shore, the water is calm, making Wailea Beach a great place for swimming.

It is also a great spot to enjoy sunbathing and snorkeling. There are places near the beach where you can rent equipment if needed. Wailea Beach also has both restrooms and showers.

Standing up, out of the ocean are the two Mokulua Islands, creating the perfect backdrop. All of this, completes the atmosphere of Lanikai Beach Hawaii.

Located on the windward side of Oahu, in Kailua, Lanikai Beach is just around the corner from Kailua Beach. Though unlike Kailua, Lanikai Beach doesn’t have lifeguards, restrooms or other such facilities. Keeping this in mind, remember to always swim with someone, and to pay attention to changing weather.

Lanikai Beach Hawaii is said to be one of the best beaches for swimming, and is a favorite of both visitors and the locals. Lanikai also is a great spot for snorkeling, you might even see a sea turtle down in it’s natural habitat.

Kailua Beach Hawaii Photo by legge_e_mareKailua Beach Hawaii is said to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Oahu. Complete with soft white sand, gorgeous tall palm trees and other greenery lining the shore. But one of Kailua’s biggest highlights would be the crystal clear, turquoise water.

Kailua Beach, Oahu Hawaii is located in a small beach town on the windward side of Oahu and is only a thirty minute drive from Honolulu and Waikiki beach.

Found just around the corner from Kailua Beach is Lanikai Beach, which was voted one of the top ten beaches in the world.

Adding to the beautiful scenery are the Mokulua Islands that sit just off the shores of the beach. While at Kailua Beach, you can take a guided kayak tour to the Islands.

When visiting Kailua Beach watch out for a stinging, blue jellyfish called Portuguese Man-of-War and a type of seaweed called Limu that also can sting. Especially be on the lookout for them, from June to September. Warning signs will be posted along the beach to warn of these two stinging creatures.

There are many other fun things you can experience at Kailua Beach, body boarding, snorkelling in the nearby reefs, and the usually calm water makes Kailua a great place for swimming.
